CSR Vision
CSR is the continuing commitment by businesses to contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the work force and their families as well as the community and society at large, says the world Business council.
More and more companies across the world are joining this creed and are looking for avenues to contribute to social good. The municipal corporation too is constantly looking towards enhancing the livability of the city. As per the vision envisaged by our Hon’ble minister for urban development Shri K.T. Rama Rao these varied actors are working towards the same goal of improving the lives of people in the city, hence the need to bring in synergies between corporate’s , individuals and the municipal corporation to create a win-win situation to enhance the development potential of the city.
Many corporate across the world are taking a more proactive role in trying to do business in a socially, ethically and environmentally important manner.
The municipal corporation too is looking forward for partners to enhance its capabilities in technologies and shared values in augmenting civic facilities across the city.
GHMC-CSR is an initiative to synchronize the civic body and private corporation’s positives towards creating more civic amenities and enhancing livability of the city.
Legal framework
1. Sec 135 Companies act 2013 “minimum 2% of average net profit during immediately preceding 3 FY of any company registered or operating in India to be spent on CSR activities”
Any company which has a net worth of INR 5000 million or more, has a turnover of 10,000 million or more, net profit of 50 million or more
“Every company including its holding or subsidiary, and a foreign company defined under clause (42) of section 2 (companies act) having its branch office or project office in India are required to spend
qualified CSR expenditure under the companies act".
(a) Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting preventive health care and sanitation (including contribution to swachh bharat kosh) and making available safe drinking water.
(b) Promoting education and employment, including enhancing vocational skills, especially among women and children, differently abled and livelihood enhancement program.
(c) Promoting gender equality and empowering women including setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans, setting up old age homes and day care centers and such other facilities for senior citizens.
(d) Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of air water and soil.

(f) Training to promote sport activities
Failure to disclose CSR activities in the boards annual reports will be liable for a fine upto 25 lakhs annually in addition to imprisonment upto 3yrs (sec 138(8)of company's act).
